A PERSON VICTOR HAS MET

Pepe Reilly

Assistant to Freddie Roach

From the gyms of Los Angeles to the storied arenas of international competition, Pepe Reilly has lived a life shaped by relentless will and a deep commitment to the art of boxing.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Pepe discovered the ring as a young man with a passion for movement and competition. His talent and work ethic propelled him quickly through the amateur ranks, where he became the 1992 U.S. National Golden Gloves welterweight champion.

That same year, Pepe earned the honor of representing the United States at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, stepping onto the global stage with pride and determination. Though his Olympic journey ended before the podium, the experience marked a pivotal moment in his life as an ambassador of his sport.

Following his amateur success, Pepe turned professional in 1993 and went on to compile a powerful record, earning 15 wins… with 11 coming by knockout. After retiring from competition in 2000, Pepe transitioned into coaching and mentorship. As a respected trainer and founder of his own training programs in Hollywood, Pepe brings the same precision and intensity he displayed in the ring to every fighter he trains.

In this portrait, I celebrate Pepe as more than a boxer. He is a strategist of movement, a mentor to those seeking strength, and a fierce believer in the power of disciplined purpose.
